I am writing to express my deepest gratitude for awarding me the Longmont LatinX Voices Scholarship. I am incredibly honored and grateful for your generous support. As mentioned in the award ceremony, this scholarship will help me pursue my academic and professional goals at Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder. Receiving this scholarship has not only provided me with the financial assistance I needed, but it has also inspired me to strive for excellence and make the most of the educational opportunities available to me. With this support, I can focus more on my studies at the School of Business without the added stress of not meeting the financial requirements.
I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and giving back to the community in meaningful ways, both during my studies and in my future career. Your generosity has made a significant impact on my life, and I am deeply thankful for your trust and investment in my potential. I am sure that I won’t let my supporters down and make the best of my opportunities.
Thank you once again for your kindness and support. I look forward to representing the values of Latinos and making you all proud.
Warmest regards, Jorge Crespo Cruz

Going to college has always been my dream, as a first-generation Latina student I have always worked hard to be able to some day make my dream come true. With this scholarship I am thankfully now able to pay for my college and start my career as a teacher to have my own classroom and make it a comfortable place for students to succeed and advocate for everyone’s needs.
I am now headed to CU Boulder and will be starting in the school of education this Fall! It makes me so happy that I am able to say that! I want to start off by saying that I am extremely honored to be receiving such an award to represent my culture and I am so happy to be receiving this scholarship in honor of Linda Marquez. When I got to learn more about who Mrs. Marquez was and what she did. I truly think that we shared many values, beliefs, and goals when it comes to advocating for the importance of remembering one’s roots and making sure everyone’s voice is heard and it truly is an honor and I take this award as a sign to become an advocate for her legacy.
I want to thank this foundation for supporting my dreams and my goals by helping me and being a part of my college career. I plan on continuing to work hard in college keeping in mind this foundation, the people behind it, and of course, Mrs. Marquez. I am now determined to make the best of my college experience and become a great teacher someday. I am truly grateful for this award and for all the people working in this foundation.
Warmly, Ana Z.

I am writing to express my dearest gratitude towards the Longmont Latinx Voices community, for choosing me as a candidate to receive their scholarship. I will be the first in my family to continue my education in a four year institution. As you all know, having the financial funding in order to seek further education is always an obstacle. I was afraid I would have not been able to go to college because of the financial stress my parents and I would have to endure. So I cherish this opportunity I was given to receive the help I need to accomplish my dream career and inspire those around me.
This coming fall I will be majoring in Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder. With this financial assistance I was rewarded I will be one step closer to becoming a future software engineer that will make the Latino community proud. Again, I am honored to be chosen and be given the chance to break a generational curse and attend college. This is what the American Dream is all about.
Sin acción no ay milagros y si quieres paz lucha por la justicia
Best wishes, Lexi Mendoza Garcia

I would like to reiterate once again how thankful I am to have been chosen for this award. Being able to receive this in your name is a true honor; seeing everything you’ve done for the community and the impact you’ve had on people is so inspiring. I’m grateful that you saw me as someone who deserved this award and can have an impact on the world.
I’m planning on attending CU Boulder in the fall, and studying Neuroscience, and this award is truly a blessing to help start this journey. Once again, thank you so much for choosing and believing in me.
Sincerely, Fatima Ordonez

Once again, thank you so much for choosing to invest in me and my future by awarding me your family scholarship! I will be attending the University of Northern Colorado and will be majoring in nursing.
To say I’m excited for my future is an understatement. I cannot wait to pursue a career that is bigger than myself and to make my family, and now your family, proud! I feel so extremely blessed that you have chosen to play a part in funding my post-secondary education and more importantly my road to becoming a nurse and I cannot stress enough how much your scholarship means to me and my family.
Thank you so much!
Best wishes, Isabelle Zuniga

I want to thank you for selecting me as the recipient for this scholarship. I am beyond grateful and deeply honored to be receiving this scholarship on behalf of Griffin Ferguson. Like him, I too want to make a difference within the community and I also believe it is my duty to keep giving back and serving others. With this scholarship,
I will further my education at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to major in Exercise Science. I want to become an Athletic Trainer in hopes to help others recover. So thank you for contributing to the opportunity of me going to college. I am so thrilled and can’t wait to continue to be apart of this organization!
Thank you again, Nayeli Ortiz

I would like to thank the donors of this scholarship for granting me the privilege of receiving the Longmont Latinx Voices Scholarship. This fall, after graduation, I will be attending Colorado State University. While there, I plan to study real estate business. I also hope to try out and be part of the CSU club baseball team or other intramural sports. I believe Colorado State University will be a great fit for me as I begin my higher education journey. I enjoy being outdoors, fishing, playing various sports and I hope to continue to be active in these areas while I am studying in Fort Collins.
I feel very honored to have been chosen to receive this scholarship. It has allowed me to continue with my education goals and I hope to be the first in my family to graduate from a university. I am extremely grateful and I will work hard to be a good representative of the Longmont Latinx Voices Scholarship recipients.
Thank You, Matthew Sias

Thank you for choosing me to be a recipient of this year’s Jennie Rodriguez scholarship award, it is such an honor to be part of her legacy. In the next chapter of my life I plan to study mortuary science at Arapahoe Community college.
As the child of a single undocumented parent, our family has not known the freedom to access higher education. Being first generation I carry my family’s hope for a better future. I have inherited my mother’s curious spirit and hope to make her proud by attending college and studying the career of my dreams.
Education is power, and I hope to continue empowering myself and those around me. In the world of death services, people from BIPOC identities are often misrepresented and underserved. It is important for me to educate myself as a mortician, since learning is not an individual endeavor, my community benefits by me being able to uphold our rights post mortem. Receiving this scholarship will help me have a holistic experience as a first gen student. Not only will it help me pay for college, but it will assist with my living expenses since I will be moving out of my childhood home.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to continue studying and empowering myself and my community.
Sincerely, Sheccid Alcaraz-Soto
